The Reaping

It's hard to find a bad Hilary Swank movie and unfortunately the first three quarters of The Reaping borders on tedium, not from bad acting but a rather slow plot. The beautiful Hilary Swank stars as Katherine Winter, a former Christian missionary who lose her faith in Africa when her family was murdered.

This has caused Katherine to become a scientific Myth Buster who travels around the world attempting to debunk Holy miracles. Unfortunately for Katherine, she soon encounters a variety of biblical plagues that she cannot explain and is drawn into a strange world that rekindles her faith.

The story itself seems to have been taken from a variety of other Christian horror movies that starts extremely slow and leads to a clichéd ending that does contain a variety of impressive special effects. The majority of the cast is brilliant, especially Swank but the plot and clichéd Southern characters leave the viewer a tad bored.
