The Last Mimzy

A children’s tale about naturally enough kids who find a box of magical objects that give them secret abilities that set them apart from normal folk. They are introduced to this world by a talking rabbit named Mimzy who explains how to use the “toys” in the box and sort of acts like a guide to the kids.

Of course with toys like these which apparently come from the future, comes a certain degree of responsibility and quickly the children, named Noah and Emma, realize that they are destined to save the world. Provided of course that anyone in the parent world will actual listen and believe them!

The whole movie feels a little rushed to be perfectly honest and you don’t fully get the sense of wonder that should be felt by the children as they explore this wonderful new world that they’ve been given insight to. I would have loved to see a lot more hijinks with the gadgets, in an ain’t it cool type way.

That said, this is an enjoyable flick that the smaller kids will like, however it might start to grate on teens. For a rainy day though, your young’uns will lap it up and give you a few hours to get the ironing done.
