The Last King of Scotland

The last King of Scotland is the fascinating story of a Scottish doctor who became the personal physician to Idi Amin, dubbed one of the world's most dangerous dictators. This captivating tale begins in England where a young doctor decides to step out of his fathers footsteps and become a doctor in war torn Uganda during the 1970's. During a chance visit to a remote African town, Idi Amin befriends the doctor and through his charisma, persuades him to follow him to the capital of Uganda.

Soon his life is thrown into turmoil as he is dragged into the dangerous world of Idi Amin which gives the viewer a brief insight into the atrocities that plagued this country during the 1970s. Whitaker does a brilliant job at recreating this African dictator and also his love for Scotland and what starts at an almost comedic look into the life of Idi Amin eventually ends in a awe-inspiring drama movie that gives you a look into man's darkest hour. Riveting!
