Kite Runner is based on the bestselling novel by Khaled Hosseini's
that revolves around two boys, Amir and Hassan who are best friends
growing up in Afghanistan in the 1970s and whose lives are forever
altered after a life changing incident.

			The incident begins when
they both enter a kite flying contest and as the day progresses,
Hassan is violently raped while Amir idly watches and through fear
is unable to seek aid. Hassan sees this as an act of cowardness as
does Amir who is severely remorseful over the incident and both
			their innocence is forever lost.

Fast forward to San Francisco where Amir
(Khalid Abdalla) is now a successful author in the United States,
however he feels the need to return to his homeland in Afghanistan,
only to discover that Hassan's fate nor his family's has improved as
he attempts to do the unthinkable and challenge the violent and
			crazed rule of the Taliban.

			Director Marc Forster (Monster's Ball)
does a brilliant job at transforming the story to film with some
truly inspirational performances from all involved, making this one
of the most moving films of the year. Great picture quality and some
very interesting special features round this DVD off.
