State of Play Series 1

Stephen Collins is an ambitious politician. Cal McAffrey is a well-respected investigative journalist and Stephen's ex-campaign manager. En route to work one morning, Stephen's research assistant mysteriously falls to her death on the London Underground.

It's not long before revelations of their affair hit the headlines. Meanwhile a suspected teenage drug dealer is found shot dead. These (apparently unconnected) events expose a dangerous habit within modern government of dancing too closely with the corporate devil. Friendships are tested and lives are put on the line as an intricate web of lies unfolds.

The riveting BBC series State of Play features some of the UK's finest actors that is filled with murder, intrigue and mystery. Ironically this series feels reminiscent of 24 with its complex and twisted plot lines that will draw the viewer right into the series from the word go.

Presented in glorious 16:9 widescreen with Dolby Digital 2.0 stereo, this series is as close as you could get to the big screen. Match that with some episode commentary and you get a true insight into the behind the scenes of State of Play.
