Rogue Nation

This informative documentary told by Historian Michael Cathcart revisits our country in its infancy that could be considered the Wild Wild West era in Australia.

The DVD features both episodes of this ABC eries and showcases some of the colourful characters (John Macarthur, William Wentworth & Ralph Darling) that helped build this country today.

In under 40 years, the landscape of Australia changed considerably and with it came new laws, rights and opportunities for its denizens. The highlight of the series is the unique insight into the Rum Rebellion that led to the Australian court system which then established civil rights for these new Australians.

Rogue Nation is also a great social commentary of the time of how the under classed managed to usurp the authorities by learning the rights and rules of the era and using them to challenge the current government.

As this is a dramatized documentary, it stars some great Australian and English actors that include John Wood as Governor William Blight, Geoff Morrell as John Macarthur and John Brumpton as William Wentworth.

It should be noted that this documentary does have some adult content, however it does give the viewer a truly fascinating insight into the creation of the Australia we know today. Thankfully this documentary doesn't talk down to the viewer and puts you on equal par with historian Michael Cathcart.

Gripping from start to finish with high quality video and audio that compliments the dramatised events.
