National Treasure 2: Book of Secrets Collector's Edition

(2 disc set)

Modern day adventurer and archaeologist, Ben Franklin Gates (Nicholas Cage) returns to DVD once again in National Treasure 2: Book of Secrets, another exciting instalment of conspiracies and ancient artefacts. Best of all, a variety of actors from the original movie reprise their roles in the sequel that include Jon Voight as Patrick Gates, Justine Bartha as Riley Poole and Diane Kruger as Abigail Chase who are as entertaining as they were in the original instalment.

This roller coaster adventure is filled with cliché and conspiracies that actually create quite an entertaining and over the top plot. The story revolves around the legendary "Book of Secrets" that is a record of all the world's secrets and conspiracies which has our heroes breaking into the Oval Office and even Buckingham Palace for clues.

However for our hero, this book will clear his ancestors name from being named as a co-conspirator who assisted in the assassination of Lincoln. The relationships in this current sequel have also changed and Abigail Chase who was once Ben Franklin Gate's girlfriend are now separated but the flames are still there.

The character Riley Poole is still as flamboyant and over the top as ever who assists in complimenting the humour of Cage. Helen Mirren also stars as Patrick Gate's ex-wife who all come together as a family to assist Ben uncover this secret before it falls into the wrong hands.

With some great stunts and really unbelievable plot lines like kidnapping the president of the United States, National Treasure 2: Book of Secrets works quite well as a movie, thanks to director Jon Turteltaub who makes this movie even more entertaining than the original.

Perfect video and audio quality with a plethora of special features that are quite intuitive and entertaining which gives a true insight into the movie and beyond. Truly a first class presentation from Walt Disney Studios.
