Mezzo Forte

Baseball, mobsters, sexy chicks with guns and so much more. This is the world of Mezzo Forte and it’s lead Mikura, a hot assassin for hire that is told to take out the owner of one of the biggest baseball teams. It seems like a straightforward enough mission until we find out that the owner is a heavily connected mobster.

Mikura and her team must battle through the legions of thugs and other obstacles in order to get to their target but the mob boss’ daughter may just prove to be the undoing of all that. She’s smart, sexy and very handy with a gun and with the attitude worse than that of her dad and his flunkies. Just what every father needs in a daughter!

Mezz Forte is a fast paced tale that just looks gorgeous on the screen with animations to die for. I sort of thought of Mikura and her team to be kind of like a Japanese A Team just with no BA Barrackus. There is Mikura herself taking charge of guns and combat, Harada the cyber punk, and the older Mister K who acts as mentor and getaway driver in of all things a mini!

You are going to have a fair bit of fun with this movie if you love the guns and chicks. The storyline gets a bit confused and if you can get over a bit of continuity trouble then it pays off in the end. The interview with Yasuomi  Umetsu is a good pay off in the extras as otherwise there are only storyboards.

See what you think.
