Meerkat Manor: The Story Begins
This wonderfully entertaining wildlife documentary
revolves around a group of Meerkats in the wild as the viewer is taken
on a personal journey thanks to the beautiful narration by Whoopi Goldberg.
If this DVD seems familiar, it’s because it is based on the TV series of
the same name, narrated by Sean Astin, however this DVD takes the viewer
back to where it all began and revolves around Flower, a young meerkat
pup who is destined to become the matriarch of the pack.
As Flower and her fellow meerkats grow up in the harsh
deserts of the Kalahari, it’s fascinating to see how these small
creatures interact with each other and of course, defend each other from
the hardships of this world from predators and even rival gangs.
This documentary gives the viewer
a unique insight into their lives and it’s amazing how these little
creatures have created their own structures and communication methods to
"speak" between members. The video quality is quite good,
especially the close-ups of the meerkats which only enhances this
amazing viewing experience.
