How to Build a Human: the Future of Being

It’s amazing how far science has come, especially when you relate it back to antiquity. Although mankind has excelled in the field of science, there are still aspects of our persona and creation that remain a mystery and if you ever wanted to know about the creation of the human species, than this BBC documentary is for you.

Best of all, this documentary explains many of its scientific concepts in laymen’s terms that uses both real and CGI footage to help you understand even better. The series targets mankind now and in the future through four enjoyable episodes that include Creation, Predictor, The Secret of Sex and Forever Young.

The premise of the series is that one day, mankind may be able to create humans without the need for the traditional sense of creation and this may lead to immortality. Although purely speculative, the series does give scientific evidence that in the future, this may become a possibility as we attempt to live longer and healthier in the 21st century.

Whether this involves in creating our perfect offspring in artificial wombs or actually growing our very own replacement organs, the possibilities that this documentary raises is only limited by our imaginations. It should be noted that possibility is the main theme to this series and considering how far we have come, medically in 2000 years and more importantly, in the last 50-years, How to Build a Human may very well be an accurate snapshot in our futures.

The presentation of this BBC series boasts a widescreen presentation that is exceptionally clear and vibrant at times which only enhances this experience for the viewer. At the end of the day, this was a very enjoyable documentary series that uses fact and fiction to open our eyes as to what is possible.

Highly Recommended!
