Globe World Cup Skateboarding 2005
Once again Stomp bring it home for
skaters with the best Globe World Cup to date! I love Globe and the
World Cup is simply something that you have to experience. What is it?
Why the hell are you reading this review if that needs an explanation?
Globe World Cup is an invite only
event for the world’s best skaters and it comes to Rod Laver Arena in
Feb and gets absolutely crazy. Massive crowds show up and I was lucky
enough to attend the actual event (and get on this DVD)
There are heats that go on throughout the day and
part of the logistical nightmare that the producers of this disc face is
how do you take an entire days worth of skateboarding and fit it onto
one or two discs? It’s a hell of a mission and one that they manage to
do nicely.
Old School skate fans will be stoked at the Rodney
Mullen introduction, and with him being one of my sporting heroes, I was
really happy about the whole scenario. There are feature interviews with
all the main players on this disc and you really get a good look at the
background of each.
All that aside, check out all these extras. Possibly
my favourite extra is the Gallaz Skate Jam. Those girls absolutely OWN
the circuit when they are on and are just as competitive as the guys in
their own right.
