Fetish: Pain or Pleasure?
This documentary deals with the world of domination
and submission as we are taken into a dungeon and shown various
techniques used to give people sexual satisfaction. It attempts to take
a serious look at the different methods. It is educational without being
entirely titillating but for some reason the whole thing falls down
badly.
The only thing I can put it down to is that the video
is pretty hokey and the transition effects are something I could quite
easily reproduce with my iMovie program on my Mac. In fact I was pretty
convinced that this thing was made by someone having their first time
with DVD editing software.
This took away from the subject matter and I found it
hard to take seriously. It appears that the producers lucked upon the
dungeon and found the different employees there willing to talk, ran
home as fast as they could and whacked it onto the computer.
This disc is an odd one as I find it hard to
recommend, yet at the same time there is little else in the market that
attempts to explain this world. This is the reason I am scoring it
higher than average, I do wish that it was better quality. |
