Black Dahlia

The Black Dahlia is loosely based on an actual murder in the 1940's that involved a family of socialites. Masterfully directed by Brian De Palma, Black Dahlia stars Josh Hartnett as Bucky Bleichert who has been partnered with Lee Blanchard to investigate the murder of a young woman who is brutally murdered.

As Bucky investigates the murder of Elizabeth Short, he soon becomes romantically involved in a key suspect that leads him to a path of corruption and deceit with the world of high society and the police force.

Based on the novel by James Ellroy, this tale has a great cast of talented actors but in the long run, it seems like something is missing from the story... whether it was the script or the story itself, Black Dahlia just misses the mark. Needless to say, it's still an entertaining watch that will have you glued to the small screen.
