Asterix the Gaul

The classic Asterix tales arrives on DVD which is based on the highly popular Asterix character who is a national icon in France.

In this tale, a nefarious Roman Centurion called Crismus Bonus discovers the existence of the magic potions which gives our diminutive hero his special abilities.

Crismus decides to kidnap the druid who created this magic potion in order for him to disclose the special ingredients. Fortunately for our unlucky druid, he is joined by Asterix and the two create a plan to foil Crismus’ attempts with some hilarious results that is classic Asterix story telling.

Although Asterix was created for children, the animated tales features a healthy dose of mature anecdotes and dialogue to keep the more mature viewer entertained, especially some of the innuendos in the title.

A great family DVD with some quite decent animation from the era.
