An American Haunting

An American Haunting is based on the world's only documented account of ghost killing a person in the early 19th century of the town of Red River Tennessee in the United States. With over 20 books written on this mystery, this current incarnation of the story gives viewers the most reasonable explanation behind the murder with the tale revolving around the Bell family whose family is visited by an unseen spirit after a land settlement dispute with a neighbour.

With the daughter and father of the Bell family being targeted by the spirit, the Bell Family soon turn to others in the village to assist them bring order to their disturbed lives with devastating consequences. Director Courtney Solomon does a wonderful job at bringing the story into the 20th century with a unique twist at the end of the movie.

Director Courtney Solomon also brings together a first class ensemble of actors led by the talented Donald Sutherland and Rachel Hurd-Wood in this psychological horror that has the viewer question the menace behind the story from start to finish.

The video quality of An American Haunting is presented in glorious 16:9 widescreen with Dolby Digital 5.1 for that true cinematic experience. Needless to say, watch the movie in the dark with the sound turned up. Highly Recommended!
