The DC event that have been teased during the last two years finally starts.

Superman and Wonder Woman are discussing about how they deal with the different criminals that threaten the world and find that they have pretty strong differences between them and their new relationship. Things are not getting exactly better once that Pandora finds them and ask Superman to open the box which would manipulate him into producing a death on the JLA ranks. The war has begun.

I swear to God, everything what I have been speculating have become true, EVERYTHING. We all knew that a death was going to happen but at the same time we didn't know who was going to provoke it, I thought it was a pretty cool twist, just at the moment when both Superman and Wonder Woman are dicussing about the use of lethal force someone manipulates Clark into becoming a murderer, of course that's not his fault since he's being clearly manipulated by a strange forces connected to Pandora and The Outsider (Yes, confirmed).

But you know what was the biggest surprise for me here? How much I liked Doctor Light's portrayal. On his previous incarnation he was an one-dimensional demented rapist who also enjoyed tormenting kids, but here it seems like the New 52 gave him another chance to start again, mentioning things like: "The last thing I want to do is hurt kids" and being the voice of reason in the conflict, I actually felt bad for him when... you know.

Also, his powers are a pretty intriguing variation of his classic theme. Another surprise? He calls his wife Kim, probably short for Kimiyo. I rest my case.

The art was spectacular, now I understand why Ivan Reis needed the extra time, he completely sells the blockbuster effect that Johns is trying to create making it at the same time beautiful.

Great start for this event and I might say one of the best JL issues ever.
