Maximum Risk

The classic action movie starring Jean Claude Van Damme “Maximum Risk” arrives on Blu-ray that is one the most clichéd martial art films of all time. Van Damme plays two roles in a classic 80’s twist that both characters are twins!

When Mikhail Suverov (Van Damme) is murdered, Alain Moreau (Van Damme), a French detective working in the United States is called to investigate this crime. Things start to become complex when Mikhail’s girlfriend, Alex Minetti (Natasha Henstridge) believes that Moreau is actually Suvero, whereas Moreau discovers that his brother had a dark past.

Featuring some great action scenes, good 90's action storytelling and classic muscles from Brussels accents that at the end of the day is quite an enjoyable flick which is masterfully directed by Ringo Lam.

Although Natasha Henstridge makes her debut in Maximum Risk, she is unfortunately sidelined and is used more as a tool for the male audience that makes this movie so clichéd in that 1990’s action movie way.

The conversion to Blu-ray is actually quite impressive and featured decent video and audio quality, although at times it still has that “video” fell to it. The audio is quite good compared to the age of this movie and goes well with the storyline and video quality. In conclusion, Maximum Risk may not be for everyone but if you’re fan of the Muscles from Brussels, than this is definitely a good Blu-ray conversion.
