IMAX Melbourne Museum presents a limited re-release of graphic novel turned gore flick 300 in the lead up to the release of the blockbuster Watchmen on March 5.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
This February Friday the 13th is set to see the blockbuster 300 return to Melbourne\u2019s biggest screen, transporting movie-goers to ancient Greece and into the ultimate battle as 300 Spartans fight for freedom and glory.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Based on the graphic novel by Frank Miller and directed by Zach Synder (Watchmen), 300 is a ferocious retelling of the ancient Battle of Thermopylae, in which King Leonidas (Gerard Butler) and 300 Spartans fought to the death against Xerxes and his massive Persian army. Facing insurmountable odds, their valor and sacrifice inspire all of Greece to unite against their Persian enemy, drawing a line in the sand for democracy. The film brings Miller\u2019s (Sin City) acclaimed graphic novel to life by combining live action with virtual backgrounds that capture his distinct vision of the ancient historic tale.<\/p>\n
On March 5 the superhero mystery adventure Watchmen hits IMAX Melbourne Museum. An adaptation of Alan Moore\u2019s landmark comic book series, Watchmen is set in an alternative 1985 America in which costumed superheroes are part of the fabric of everyday society. An investigation into the murder of a government sponsored super-hero pulls them out of retirement and eventually leads them to confront a plot by one of their own to stave off nuclear war by killing millions of innocent people.\u00a0<\/p>\n
To top off the graphic novel movie mania, IMAX Melbourne Museum has re-released box office smash hit and multi award winning The Dark Knight, which will run throughout February.\u00a0<\/p>\n
