After a successful mutiny, gamers serve as the ship\u2019s captain and helm one of 27 fully customizable vessels in and around the treasure-laden 17<sup>th<\/sup> century Caribbean islands.\u00a0 Either by their ship\u2019s cannon or sword\u2019s blade, players must fend off their foes while they explore the exotic islands and surrounding seas hunting for hidden treasure.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSpilling over with swashbuckling pirate exploration, <strong><em>Sid Meier&#8217;s Pirates!<\/em><\/strong> is one of those rare games that is fun for both fans of the original and younger gamers who are new to the series,&#8221; said Christoph Hartmann, president of 2K.<\/p>\n<p>Originally developed by Firaxis Games, <strong><em>Sid Meier\u2019s<\/em><\/strong> <strong><em>Pirates! <\/em><\/strong>was adapted for Wii by 2K China and Virtuous and includes the classic mini-games from the franchise\u2019s original title such as Sword Fighting, Ship Combat and Dancing, as well as two new mini-games mapped to the Wii controls &#8211; Bombardment and Lock Picking. The game\u2019s open-ended campaign provides captains with the chance of a lifetime to amass fortune, fame and notoriety all the while searching for kidnapped family members and waiting for the opportunity to find and defeat the evil Marquis de la Montalban once and for all.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Sid Meier\u2019s<\/em><\/strong> <strong><em>Pirates! <\/em><\/strong>offers action-packed naval battles where captains must out maneuver opponents using prevailing winds in order to capture or sink the enemy\u2019s ship.
