To save an earthbound Kryptonian<\/em>, the Man of Steel<\/em> and the Dark Knight<\/em> unite once again \u2013 this time to battle the powerful forces of Darkseid<\/em> \u2013 in Superman\/Batman: Apocalypse<\/em>, <\/strong>the ninth entry in the popular, ongoing series of DC Universe<\/em> Animated Original M-rated Movies coming 3 November 2010 from Warner Premiere, DC Comics and Warner Bros. Animation. The highly anticipated, full-length film will be distributed by Warner Home Video on Blu-ray\u2122 for $44.95RRP and DVD for $34.95RRP. The film will also be available On Demand and to Download.<\/p>\n

Fan favourites Tim Daly (Private Practice<\/em>) and Kevin Conroy (China Beach<\/em>) return to their seminal roles as Superman<\/em> and Batman<\/em>, respectively. The celebrity-laden guest cast is headed by Andre Braugher (Men of a Certain Age<\/em>) as the daunting Darkseid<\/em>. Sci-Fi heroine Summer Glau (Serenity\/Firefly, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles<\/em>) provides the voice of Supergirl<\/em>, and seven-time Emmy Award winner Ed Asner (Up<\/em>) reprises his Superman: The Animated Series\/Justice League<\/em> role as Granny Goodness<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Based on the DC Comics series\/graphic novel \u201cSuperman\/Batman: Supergirl<\/em>\u201d by Jeph Loeb, Michael Turner & Peter Steigerwald, Superman\/Batman: Apocalypse<\/em><\/strong> is produced by animation legend Bruce Timm and directed by Lauren Montgomery (Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths<\/em>) from a script by Academy Award-nominated screenwriter Tab Murphy (Gorillas in the Mist<\/em>).<\/p>\n

After a spaceship splashes down in Gotham<\/em> <\/em>City<\/em> Harbour, Batman<\/em> and Superman<\/em> encounter a mysterious Kryptonian<\/em> with powers as great as those of the Man of Steel<\/em>. The Kryptonian<\/em> is soon revealed to be Kara, cousin of Superman, who takes her under his wing to educate her about the ways of Earth. However, the villainous Darkseid<\/em> has other plans. Seeing an opportunity to finally defeat Superman<\/em>, Darkseid<\/em> abducts and gains control of Kara, utilising the powerful Kryptonian<\/em> to do his bidding. It\u2019s up to Batman<\/em> and Superman<\/em> to save Kara, but they\u2019ll have to take the fight to Darkseid<\/em> within his hostile world \u2013 where unknown, deadly threats lurk around every corner, including a brainwashed Kryptonian<\/em> able to match Superman<\/em> blow-for-blow.<\/p>\n

In addition to the feature film, the Blu-ray will include the third DC Showcase<\/em> animated short, Green Arrow<\/em><\/strong>.\u00a0 Screenwriter Greg Weisman\u2019s story finds Oliver Queen<\/em> at the Star<\/em> <\/em>City<\/em> International Airport to pick up his girlfriend, only to be forced into action as Green Arrow<\/em> to protect the 10-year-old Princess of Vlatava from his old nemesis Merlyn the Magnificent and the League of Assassins<\/em>. The short features the voices of Neal McDonough (Desperate Housewives<\/em>) and Malcolm McDowell (Entourage<\/em>). Bruce Timm is executive producer.<\/p>\n
