With the increasing popularity of USB memory sticks and the rapid emergence of the Netbook laptop market, Manaccom \u2013 one of Australia\u2019s longest established computer software publishers \u2013 has re-launched a selection of its award-winning PC products in the portable memory stick format.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Manaccom\u2019s Ian Mackay said it made good sense to offer its products in the portable format because USB was quickly becoming the standard of choice among Netbook, laptop and home PC owners alike.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cNetbooks are smaller, low-cost laptops designed for work and entertainment, especially for people on the go, but they don\u2019t feature CD\/DVD drives.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cUSB memory sticks are second to none when it comes to speed, convenience, portability and security. Also, they are becoming less expensive with greater capacity, some sticks are able to hold 16GB of data,\u201d Mr Mackay said.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Mr Mackay said USB memory sticks were crossing over from the burgeoning Netbook market and were now revolutionising the way traditional home PC users are buying and storing their software.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cUSB drives can be carried on a key ring or lanyard, thus eliminating the need to cart around a toolbox full of bulky CDs and floppy disks. Those cumbersome days will soon be gone just like the 80s when vinyl and cassettes were replaced by CDs,\u201d Mr Mackay said. \u201cA further benefit is that users will be able to keep other files on these sticks adding to the convenience of the format.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cManaccom is offering its USB software at the same RRP as its CD range.
