Animania\u2019s Cosplay champions, Melanie de Chantraine (Mel), and Amber Martini (Asham) are only a month away from competing in the World Cosplay Summit (WCS) in Nagoya, Japan. Get ready for a visual feast of costumes, creativity and drama as participants from 15 countries compete in the international Cosplay competition.<\/p>\n
VISIT JAPAN AND WCS<\/p>\n

TEAM AUSTRALIA FOR WCS 2010<\/p>\n
Australia\u2019s WCS competitors have a breadth of Cosplay experience behind them: Mel, from Queensland\u2019s Gold Coast is a horticulturalist by trade, but for eight years her passion for Cosplay has seen her drawing, sewing and making armour.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe elaborate armour, the infallible honour, and all the things missing in today’s warfare – any country with a rich history involving brave and eccentric warriors is a place I would jump at the chance to visit!\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
Her Cosplay partner in WCS is Asham, a self-confessed \u2018dork by trade\u2019 from Melbourne.<\/p>\n
\u201cI dress the way I want, often have my hair cut and dyed into crazy hair styles and am into Cosplay because I love to create,\u201d she said, referring to her love of costume and prop construction.<\/p>\n
In their biggest challenge yet, Mel and Asham will be cosplaying as Sun Ce and Sun Quan from the popular video game Dynasty Warriors 6 at WCS\u2019s token event, the World Cosplay Championship.<\/p>\n
