{"id":6451,"date":"2010-06-11T17:59:03","date_gmt":"2010-06-11T07:59:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/power-up.space\/?p=6451"},"modified":"2010-06-11T17:59:03","modified_gmt":"2010-06-11T07:59:03","slug":"dreamcast-games-to-make-digital-return","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.impulsegamer.com\/wordpress\/?p=6451","title":{"rendered":"DREAMCAST GAMES TO MAKE DIGITAL RETURN"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Friday 11<sup>th<\/sup> June 2010<\/strong> \u2013 SEGA<sup>\u00ae<\/sup> Europe Ltd. and SEGA<sup>\u00ae<\/sup> of America, Inc. today announced plans to bring classic titles from its popular Dreamcast\u2122 console to Xbox LIVE Arcade for the Xbox 360\u00ae video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, \u00a0and PlayStation\u00aeNetwork later this year. <em>Sonic Adventure\u2122 and Crazy Taxi\u2122<\/em> will be the first two classics made available, with Sonic leading the pack in Spring 2010 for the 11<sup>th<\/sup> anniversary of the launch of the Dreamcast in Europe.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Each game is based on the original Dreamcast incarnation, featuring all of the gameplay that older players fell in love with, whilst allowing a new audience to discover it for the very first time. The games incorporate all-new enhancements and features such as high resolution visuals and surround sound.\u00a0 Online leader boards are now implemented, allowing players to compare their skills with friends across the world!\u00a0 In addition to this, all-new Achievement and Trophy integration will be available for each game released.<br \/>\nLaunched in Europe on October 14,<sup> <\/sup>1999, the SEGA Dreamcast is one of the most beloved and critically acclaimed consoles of all time. Featuring a software library of over 650 titles, the system was widely hailed as being ahead of its time, and was the first to introduce online console gaming, with Internet support for games through an inbuilt modem.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Dreamcast is fondly remembered by a large community of dedicated fans as a console that was ahead of its time in terms of graphics, quality and online gaming\u201d commented Haruki Satomi, VP of Digital Business at SEGA of America and SEGA Europe. \u201cThere are few things that are more requested from us than making Dreamcast classics available for download in today\u2019s digital market place.
