Down, but hardly humbled, former Major League pitcher Kenny Powers returns to his hometown of Shelby County, North Carolina, to teach Phys Ed at the middle school he once attended. Still a loose cannon and non-stop offender, he wreaks havoc everywhere he goes and even makes a pre-emptive romantic strike on his former high school squeeze, now a teacher engaged to the school principal. Psyching himself up for his comeback with motivational tapes he recorded in his former life, Powers proves to be an over-the-top, sometimes unlovable, but always entertaining character.<\/p>\n
