SBS TAKE OUT TOP LOGIES.<\/strong><\/p>\n

MELBOURNE, Monday, 3 May 2010: SBS DVD programs EAST WEST 101<\/strong> and SAVED<\/strong> have taken out several Logie wins across the major categories of Best Drama, Best Actor and Best Actress at the 2010 TV Week Logie Awards ceremony.<\/p>\n

EAST WEST 101<\/strong> – now in its second season and already the recipient of the 2009 Logie for \u2018Best TV Drama Series\u2019 – has picked up another two awards at the 2010 ceremony. The second season of EAST WEST 101<\/strong> has yet again proven itself a \u201csuperior drama\u201d (SMH) series in receiving the 2010 Logie for \u2018Best TV Drama Series, Miniseries or Telemovie\u2019 amongst prestigious finalists that included Underbelly: A Tale Of Two Cities<\/em>, and Packed To The Rafters<\/em>.<\/p>\n

EAST WEST 101<\/strong> lead actor Don Hany has received the \u2018Most Outstanding Actor\u2019 Logie for his intense portrayal of Muslim detective Zane Malik. Hany was up against stiff competition in this category, including Aaron Pederson for his role in the second season of another award-winning SBS drama \u2013 THE CIRCUIT<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Claudia Karvan has also received a \u2018Most Outstanding Actress\u2019 Logie for SBS telemovie SAVED<\/strong> \u2013 the story of a married woman who saves a young Iranian refugee from detention, only to fall passionately in love with him. Even SBS \u2018it\u2019 dog WILFRED<\/strong> put in a surprise appearance at this year\u2019s ceremony \u2013 presenting the \u2018Most Popular Sports Program\u2019 award to the gang from The Footy Show (NRL).<\/p>\n
