Learn about the fascinating story of Melbourne and be amazed by the characters and events that have helped to shape the city.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Time: <\/strong>11.30am, 12.30pm and 2pm Daily<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Melbourne<\/strong><strong> puppet people<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Explore Melbourne with your own finger puppets of iconic Melbourne characters. You\u2019ll get a tram conductor, a busker and a footballer, as well as the opportunity to create your very own Melbourne character. Take your finger puppets on a journey through some of Melbourne\u2019s famous places.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Time: <\/strong>11am \u2013 3pm Daily<strong><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Exhibition \u2013 <em>The Melbourne Story<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>The Melbourne Story <\/em>reveals key moments and major changes in Melbourne\u2019s history, as well as exploring what is unique about the city. The exhibition looks at Melbourne through key times, from the early 1800s right through to the present day, enabling visitors to explore the changing social, cultural and physical character of Melbourne over time.<\/p>\n<p><em>The Melbourne Story<\/em> features more than 1200 objects, including iconic objects from Melbourne\u2019s history such as a historic bark canoe from the Yarra River, a restored Cobb &amp; Co coach, a carriage from the Luna Park Big Dipper and the much-loved \u2018Little Men\u2019 from Coles\u2019 Book Arcade.<\/p>\n<p>You can also visit Melbourne Museum two newest permanent exhibitions:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Wild: Amazing animals in a changing world<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Be surrounded by the wonderful diversity of mammals, birds and reptiles from around the world in <em>Wild: Amazing animals in a changing world<\/em>.<em> Wild<\/em> explores which animals are thriving and which are merely surviving and takes you on an adventure through different Victorian environments, such as the alps, grassland and wetlands. Discover why biodiversity is under threat and learn about how we can create a more hopeful future.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Dinosaur Walk<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Walk among the Dinosaur in Melbourne Museum <em>Dinosaur Walk.<\/em> See a wide variety of dinosaur casts up close, including crowd favourites <em>Amargasaurus<\/em> and <em>Protoceratops<\/em>, and touch displays of dinosaur teeth, bones and fossilised poo.
