\u2013 15 October 2009 \u2013<\/em><\/strong> NAMCO BANDAI Partners today announced that Monte Cristo Games’ next-generation city builder CITIES XL <\/em><\/strong>for PC is available now at retailers in Australia and New Zealand.\u00a0 CITIES XL <\/em><\/strong>pushes the boundaries of the ever-popular city builder genre with a host of original features and compelling gameplay both in single player and online multiplayer.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u00a0With a place on the ‘top ten best places to live’ list firmly in players’ sights, CITIES XL<\/em><\/strong> lets virtual mayors test the limits of scale, realism and sophistication as well as their own skill in both solo play\u00a0 and in the game\u2019s massively persistent online multiplayer \u2018Planet\u2019 mode.\u00a0 Desktop property moguls will develop cities on realistic 3D maps using a lovingly crafted collection of unique structures and monuments based on global architectural styles.\u00a0 The numerous maps feature a variety of environments including mountains, hills, canyons, beaches and islands, all set in different climate zones ranging from tropical to desert, Mediterranean to temperate.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Solo mode offers players 25 maps and approximately 500 buildings, along with a complex and diverse set of tools, while the massively persistent online \u2018Planet\u2019 mode lets many thousands of players manage their multiplayer experience both in-game and via the internet.\u00a0 Interactive online features include trading, cooperative creations of Megastructures, visiting other players’ cities, online events, regular content updates, and web-based city management from any computer in the world.<\/p>\n
