Discover why biodiversity is under threat and learn about how we can create a more hopeful future.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Date: <\/strong>From 13 November 2009<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>A Day in Pompeii: Melbourne Winter Masterpieces Exhibition<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The drama and tragedy of ancient Pompeii will be showcased in the Melbourne Winter Masterpiece exhibition <em>A Day<br \/>\nin Pompeii, <\/em>on display at Melbourne Museum from 26 June to 25 October 2009.<strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>Exclusive to Melbourne, <em>A Day in Pompeii<\/em> is developed by Museum Victoria in partnership with the Soprintendenza Speciale per i Beni Archeologici di Napoli e Pompei (SAP), and will feature over 250 objects from daily life in Pompeii and surrounds, as well as a number of body casts.<\/p>\n<p>Melbourne Winter Masterpieces is a Victorian Government initiative and is exclusive to Melbourne, Australia. <em>A Day in Pompeii <\/em>is presented in association with the <strong>Soprintendenza Speciale per i Beni Archeologici di Napoli e Pompei (SANP)<\/strong><strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Date: <\/strong>Until 25 October 2009<\/p>\n<p><strong>Cost: <\/strong>$20 adult, $14 concession, $12 child, $54 family (includes Museum entry)<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Fringe Furniture: alumni retrospective<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Throughout its long history Fringe Furniture has consistently presented works that challenge, provoke and question. Design trends change rapidly and opportunities for reflection are rare. Drawing their inspiration from the latest Paris, London and New York styles, Paragon\u2019s shoes were sold throughout Australia and New Zealand. This display offers visitors an insight into local Melbourne manufacturing, fashion, and design.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Date: <\/strong>From 3 October 2009<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Romp and Stomp Fun Day for Children <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Visit the Melbourne Museum for a day of fun filled activities and events designed for children aged 0 \u2013 5. Activities on the day are both fun and educational, and include performances, activities, special appearances and storytelling. The day also provides the opportunity for parents and carers to access information about early childhood services and networks.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Date: <\/strong>10am to 5pm, 28 October 2009<strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Ngarjun and Nakun: Our eyes, our footprints<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This exhibition explores the powerful collective story of the Mullet family, a Victorian Aboriginal family. Featuring paintings, textiles and objects from four generations of family members, the exhibition demonstrates the knowledge of culture and family connections that have been instilled through the generations by grandparents Albert\u00a0and Rachel Mullett.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Date: <\/strong>Until 8 November 2009<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Lotjpa: Speaking to<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This exhibition explores the connection between Victorian Aboriginal Youths, Indigenous community members and Elders in the Shepparton region.
