After an extensive audition process throughout Australia, the full cast of \u2018THE GRADUATE\u2019 has now been confirmed. In addition, due to incredible demand the limited season at Her Majesty\u2019s Theatre in Melbourne has been extended with new seats on sale today.<\/p>\n
About to share the stage with Jerry Hall,<\/b> starring as young, wide eyed Benjamin Braddock<\/i> is newcomer Tim Dashwood<\/b>. Tim has been working as an actor since graduating from University in 2005. He has performed extensively with the Queensland Theatre Company in productions including Managing Carmen,<\/i> Romeo and Juliet<\/i>, The Importance of Being Earnest<\/i> and The Exception<\/i> and The Rule<\/i>. He played Schlomo<\/i> in the 2010 National tour of Fame The Musical<\/i> and has appeared in a number of independent Australian films including Myles West<\/i> which earned him a Best Actor award at the 48 hour Short Film Festival.<\/p>\n
Jerry Hall<\/b> will reprise her role as seductress Mrs Robinson<\/i> after having wowed audiences in this iconic piece of American culture in the West End, Toronto, Broadway, North America and Perth. Further to her role as Mrs. Robinson<\/i>, Jerry Hall has numerous theatre credits to her name, including originating the role of Sugar in Bud Shrake\u2019s Benchmark<\/i>, directed by Michael Rudman at the New End Theatre in Hampstead. She also has had roles in the U.S. and West End productions of Bus Stop<\/i>, the West End productions of The Vagina Monologues <\/i>and The Play What I Wrote<\/i>. She was the guest star with the North American Tour of The Vagina Monologues <\/i>in Austin, Texas, and toured England with Picasso\u2019s Women<\/i>, a 52-minute monologue. Jerry also performed in the West End hit production of Calendar Girls.<\/i><\/p>\n
Joining Jerry Hall<\/b> and Tim Dashwood<\/b> in the cast of the Melbourne season of \u2018THE GRADUATE\u2019 is recognised Australian television, theatre and film actress Pippa Grandison<\/b> as Mrs Braddock<\/i>, accomplished writer, director and actor Peter Houghton<\/b> as Mr Braddock<\/i>, award winning theatre actor Luke Hewitt<\/b> as Mr Robinson<\/i>, and taking on the role of the innocent Elaine Robinson<\/i> is WAAPA Graduate Claire Lovering<\/b>.<\/p>\n

Adapted from Charles Webb\u2019s novel and the Oscar winning film, \u2018THE GRADUATE\u2019 is at once a moving coming of age story and a terrifically funny black comedy. \u2018THE GRADUATE\u2019 is set against a soundtrack of some of the most memorable songs of the sixties including Wouldn\u2019t It Be Nice \u2013 <\/i>by The Beach Boys, Everybody\u2019s Talkin <\/i>\u2013 by Harry Nilsson and, of course, The Sound Of Silence <\/i>and Mrs Robinson <\/i>\u2013 by Simon & Garfunkel.<\/p>\n
\u2018THE GRADUATE\u2019 is adapted and originally directed by Terry Johnson, from the novel by Charles Webb and the screenplay by Calder Willingham and Buck Henry. This production in Melbourne is directed by Jo Turner and produced by Kay & McLean Productions Pty Ltd in association with Michael Coppel Theatrical.<\/p>\n
Production design is by Rob Howell (sets and costumes), Hugh Vanstone (lighting) and Christopher Cronin (sound). \u2018THE GRADUATE\u2019 features songs by Paul Simon, performed by Simon and Garfunkel, and original music composed and arranged by Barrington Pheloung.<\/p>\n
