To celebrate the release today of J.J. Abrams\u2019 highly anticipated \u2018STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS\u2019 into cinemas nationally, we\u2019ve created a behind the scenes look at \u00a0singer \/ songwriter Penelope Austin and songwriter\/producer Robert Conley recording an original song for the film called \u2018THE DARK COLLIDE\u2019.<\/p>\n
The duo is among a select group of artists from six countries who received a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to have their work featured in the upcoming film from Paramount Pictures.<\/p>\n
For the first time ever in a Paramount live-action film, lyricists, vocalists and music producers from around the world were invited to add their creative talents and a local flavour to a track written for a major motion picture, which will be featured in the film during its theatrical run in each of the artists\u2019 respective countries.<\/p>\n
So, moviegoers in the countries that participated will hear a unique and different soundtrack than the moviegoers in other countries.\u00a0 This opportunity, in which the artist\u2019s own song will play during a pivotal scene with Star Trek\u2019s iconic character Scotty, drew interest from the world\u2019s hottest talent, including Australia\u2019s Conley and Austin\u2014who as of today will now hear their work in the soundtrack in every movie theatre in Australia.<\/p>\n
Their song \u2018THE DARK COLLIDE\u2019, which Conley co-wrote with Austin, who also performs on vocals, will be heard on the \u201cSTAR TREK INTO DARKNESS\u201d soundtrack, which also features Academy Award\u00ae-winning composer Michael Giacchino\u2019s score, in every theatre in Australia.<\/p>\n
