The two companies are working together to implement cutting edge mobile technology in DeNA’s upcoming first-person shooter game The Drowning.

Unity Technologies engineers worked closely with developers at DeNA’s Scattered Entertainment studio in Stockholm, Sweden for hands on technical support during the production of The Drowning to allow DeNA to leverage the technology in new ways and use those findings to benefit the nearly 1.5 million developers that constitute the worldwide Unity community.

“This kind of technical cooperation is very important for us,” said David Helgason, CEO, Unity Technologies. “It’s easy to sit in a lab and dream up awesome technological improvements, but by pushing the envelope with great game studios we can rapidly improve Unity.”

The Drowning’s development team is made up of industry veterans who have worked on best-selling console games such as Halo, Battlefield 3, Crysis 2, Far Cry 2, and Mirror’s Edge.
