MELBOURNE \u2014 (November 22, 2012)\u00a0<\/strong>\u2013\u00a0Today Disney Interactive announces the availability of \u201c<\/em>Disney Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two,\u201d<\/em> the sequel to the critically acclaimed and commercially successful \u201cDisney Epic Mickey\u201d video game. \u201c<\/em>Disney Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two\u201d<\/em> is now available for the Wii\u2122 system from Nintendo, the Xbox 360\u00ae video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and the PlayStation\u00ae3 computer entertainment system and will be available for the Nintendo\u2019s Wii U\u2122 system at launch.\u00a0 In addition \u201cDisney Epic Mickey: Power of Illusion,\u201d the first Nintendo 3DS\u2122 title for \u201cDisney Epic Mickey\u201d, is now available at major retailers nationwide.<\/p>\n

In \u201cDisney Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two,\u201d gamers will play as Mickey Mouse and for the first time ever, Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, Walt Disney\u2019s first cartoon star, in an all-new adventure of creativity and discovery.\u00a0 Created by industry luminary Warren Spector and Disney Interactive\u2019s Junction Point game development studio, \u201cDisney Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two\u201d returns Mickey Mouse and Oswald the Lucky Rabbit to Wasteland, an alternate world filled with 80 years of forgotten Disney characters and theme park attractions.\u00a0 But for the first time, Mickey and Oswald will join forces as true partners \u2013 Mickey with his magical paint brush that wields paint and thinner, and Oswald with his powerful remote control that allows him to command electricity.<\/p>\n

The game\u2019s new co-op play between Mickey and Oswald further enhances the idea that \u201cPlayStyle Matters\u201d \u2013 a unique approach to gameplay pioneered by Warren Spector.\u00a0 Through \u201cPlayStyle Matters,\u201d players dynamically tackle different challenges in order to explore all possibilities and storylines, but with consequences for their chosen actions.<\/p>\n

Co-written by award-winning comic book writer, Marv Wolfman, in collaboration with Junction Point, \u201cDisney Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two\u201d features a unique soundtrack created by Emmy award-winning composer, Jim Dooley and songwriter Mike Himelstein to deliver the first-ever video game musical.<\/p>\n

In addition to the console titles, \u201cDisney Epic Mickey: Power of Illusion\u201d for the Nintendo 3DS created by critically acclaimed DS developer DreamRift in collaboration with Disney Interactive\u2019s Junction Point, offers a unique drawing and painting functionality that allows players to create rough versions of objects that magically transform into classic Disney-style 2D illustrations.\u00a0 Utilizing the game\u2019s unparalleled dual screen integration, players then move their creations to the top screen where they are further transformed into full-color, fully-rendered 3D visuals.<\/p>\n

Paying tribute to the classic Sega Genesis title \u201cCastle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse,\u201d \u201cDisney Epic Mickey: Power of Illusion\u201d\u00a0<\/em>focuses on the fabled Castle of Illusion, which has fallen into Wasteland along with the evil witch Mizrabel, villainess from the classic \u201cCastle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse.\u201d\u00a0 Now an unwilling inhabitant of Wasteland, Mizrabel unleashes a plot to escape using the Castle of Illusion to imprison and drain the cartoon essence from currently famous Toons.\u00a0 Players will take on the role of Mickey Mouse as he utilizes his magical brush to wield paint and thinner to confront Mizrabel and save the Toons.<\/p>\n
