\n<\/span><\/span><\/strong>BURBANK, Calif. (16 July 2009) \u2013 Television programming distributed by Warner Bros. International Television (WBITV) received 31 nominations for the 61st Primetime Emmy\u00ae Awards, it was announced today by the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences at its Leonard H. Goldenson Theatre in North Hollywood, Calif.

\n\u201cTwo and a Half Men<\/span><\/span>\u201d \u2013 the highest-rated comedy on U.S. television \u2013 earned three nominations<\/span><\/span>, including Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series for Charlie Sheen and Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series for Jon Cryer, each of whom were nominated for the fourth year in a row.

\nBreakout hit comedy series \u201cThe Big Bang Theory\u201d also scored three nominations<\/span><\/span>, including Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series for Jim Parsons and Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series for Christine Baranski.

\nKyra Sedgwick picked up her fourth Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series nomination in a row for \u201cThe Closer,\u201d and Julia Louis-Dreyfus got her fourth consecutive Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series nomination for \u201cThe New Adventures of Old Christine.\u201d Both have been Emmy\u00ae-nominated for every season their respective shows have been on the air.

\nSimon Baker<\/span><\/span> \u2013 the star of freshman drama \u201cThe Mentalist,\u201d the #1 new television season of the 2008\u20132009 season in the <\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/span>U.S.<\/span><\/span><\/strong> among total viewers <\/span><\/span><\/strong>\u2013 was nominated as Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series<\/span><\/span><\/strong>.

\n\u201cER\u201d concluded its stellar 15-season run this year by nabbing two more nominations: Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series for Ernest Borgnine and Outstanding Directing in a Drama Series. This brings the total number of \u201cER\u201d Emmy\u00ae nods to 124, the most in the history of television<\/span><\/span><\/strong>.

\nCritical favorite \u201cPushing Daisies\u201d received five nominations in its final season<\/span><\/span>, including Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series <\/span><\/strong>for <\/span><\/strong>Kristin Chenoweth.
