Silver Stiletto<\/em>, the crime-thriller hero flick featuring an ex-SAS soldier turned vigilante drag queen, will have its European Premiere at Uppsala Intenational Short Film Festival in Sweden, the home of ABBA.<\/p>\n

“It’s perfect isn’t it? \u00a0A film that has a queen dancing as she while delivers the deathly blow to the murderers of her gay brother is premiering in the most high profile short film festival in the country that gave us Dancing Queen. \u00a0Muriel Heslop would love it!”, says Luke Mayze.<\/p>\n

Beginning in 1982, Uppsala International Short Film Festival is considered one of the premiere festival events for short films in the world.<\/p>\n

Silver Stiletto screens at Uppsala on Friday 26 October and Saturday 27 \u00a0October and is one of only five Australian films chosen to participate in the festival.<\/p>\n

It also marks the 9th \u00a0festival screening for the short film (see list below) and recently the drag thriller won the Audience Awards for Men’s Short Film at Reel Q, the Pittsburgh Gay and Lesbian Film Festival.<\/p>\n

Audiences in Canberra and Brisbane will get a chance to see the film when it screens at Bent Lenses Film Society on Saturday \u00a010 November at 6pm.<\/p>\n

The filmmakers are also planning a screening alongside the documentary “The Doctors Wife” by Jonathan Duffy on Sunday 2 December at 3pm at the Tribal Theatre, George Street, Brisbane.<\/p>\n

The Brisbane International Film Festival decided not to program the short film in their November program.<\/p>\n
