This is the first exhibition to showcase more than 80 costumes, models and props from all six Star Wars films.<br \/>\nStar Wars: Where Science Meets Imagination, presented by Bose Corporation, was developed by the Museum of Science, Boston and Lucasfilm Ltd. The exhibition is based upon work supported by a grant from the National Science Foundation, USA.\u00a0 \u00a9 2009 Lucasfilm Ltd. &amp; TM. Items on display include the Cowley Steam Roller, Cowley Steam Traction Engine, the only working Australian made traction engine in the world, along with the Super Sentinel Steam Wagon, the K.L. Bulldog Tractor and many others. The day includes parades, hay-baling demonstrations and rides on the model steam train with the Springvale Live Steamers.<br \/>\nDate: Sunday 2 August, 10.30am to 3.30pm<br \/>\nCost: Included with Scienceworks admission<\/p>\n<p>Discover the Night Sky<br \/>\nEvening Planetarium Program<br \/>\nThe Melbourne Planetarium at Scienceworks presents special after-dark sessions, Thursday evenings in August. All evenings include complimentary wine and cheese, the opportunity to chat to the Planetarium\u2019s Astronomer and be immersed in a Planetarium experience. The evening will finish with stargazing through telescopes (weather permitting).<\/p>\n<p>Each evening will showcase a different aspect of the night sky:<\/p>\n<p>Thursday 6 August:\u00a0Leaving Earth<br \/>\nIt\u2019s been 50 years since the first satellite was launched into space. Now one of them is a permanent home. It is a system of planets, dwarf planets, moons, asteroids and comets, bound by the pull of the sun. Marvel at the beauty of each unique world and the stories they tell.<br \/>\nThursday 20 August: \u00a0Milky Way Galaxy<br \/>\nWe are just one planet, orbiting one star, mong the 400-billion-odd stars of our Milky Way Galaxy. It is truly magnificent; a swirling mass of stars, gas and dust. But what do we know of our home galaxy? And how did we come to discover it?<br \/>\nThursday 27 August: \u00a0Backyard Astronomy<br \/>\nIt\u2019s not just stars you can see in the night sky &#8211; planets, comets, shooting stars and satellites are all there if you know when and where to look.
