The Wii U GamePad offers an integrated second screen and can also be used independently of the TV set with certain software.<\/p>\n<p>Two launch hardware packs were announced along with the strongest line-up of launch software in Nintendo history. These include third-party heavy hitters such as <strong><em>FIFA 13<\/em><\/strong> from <em>Electronic Arts<\/em> and <em>Activision\u2019s <strong>Call Of Duty\u00ae: Black Ops II<\/strong>, Ubisoft\u2019s<\/em> <strong><em>ZombiU\u2122<\/em><\/strong> and <strong><em>RAYMAN\u00ae LEGENDS <\/em><\/strong>as well as in-house titles like <strong><em>Nintendo Land<\/em><\/strong> and <strong><em>New Super Mario Bros. U<\/em><\/strong>. The Nintendo Direct presentation also revealed previously unannounced upcoming software titles exclusive to Wii U, such as <em>Capcom<\/em>\u2019s <strong><em>Monster Hunter 3<\/em><\/strong><strong>\u2122<\/strong><strong><em> Ultimate<\/em><\/strong> and <strong><em>BAYONETTA 2<\/em><\/strong>, developed by <em>Platinum Games<\/em> and published by <em>Nintendo<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>Wii U Basic Pack<\/strong> at the SRP AU $349.95* features a Wii U console with 8GB internal storage and a Wii U GamePad, both in white. The <strong>Wii U Premium Pack<\/strong> at the SRP AU $429.95* contains a black Wii U console and Wii U GamePad, and with 32GB of internal storage provides more space for downloadable digital content. The Premium Pack also contains a stand for the GamePad and console, a charging cradle for the GamePad, a sensor bar and the Nintendo Land software. Both packs also feature an HDMI cable and AC adapters for console and GamePad.<\/p>\n<p>The Wii U Premium Pack also features a reward programme called Nintendo Network Premium that grants points for digital purchases in Nintendo eShop. Valued at around 10% of the original Nintendo eShop price, this credit can be used against future purchases once you reach a minimum of 500 points**.<\/p>\n<p>The Nintendo Direct Wii U Preview also unveiled new details on software titles that will be available on launch day:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>New Super Mario Bros. U<\/strong>: The \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 new 2D platform game introduces a giant world map full of distinctive \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 courses to discover. The GamePad can be used to play \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 solo when the TV is in use and can also be used to assist other players \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 when playing co-operatively. An all-new test of players\u2019 Super Mario \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 skills appears in Boost Rush mode, where auto-scrolling courses scroll \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 faster the more coins you pick up, while in Challenge Mode any course can \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 offer completely different gameplay depending on the specific nature of \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 the challenge at hand. From Time Attack to 1-Up challenges, even Mario \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 veterans will need to bring their best game to beat the record!<\/li>\n<li><strong>Nintendo Land<\/strong>: Each of \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 the 12 attractions in this theme park\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 packed with famous Nintendo\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 franchises is a standalone game with multiple levels and gameplay \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 modes. New <em>Metroid Blast<\/em> footage \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 showed both co-operative and versus multiplayer shooting action, with \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 different roles assigned to players using the GamePad or Wii Remote and \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Nunchuk controllers. In <em>The Legend \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 of Zelda: Battle Quest<\/em> players can clear nine\u00a0 quests\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 leading to new unlockable levels on their own or working together, \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 using bow and arrows on the GamePad or sword and shield using a Wii Remote \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Plus and Nunchuk, while solo players can also enjoy the game\u2019s Time Attack \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 mode.<\/li>\n<li><strong>FIFA 13<\/strong>: Built \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 on the authenticity, innovation and connection to the real-world of \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 football that the FIFA franchise is known for, the game delivers \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 revolutionary new ways to play FIFA that bring players of all abilities \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 together, making it the most accessible FIFA console game ever made.<\/li>\n<li><strong>ZombiU<\/strong><strong><em>\u2122<\/em><\/strong>: New \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 footage from this exclusive survival horror first-person shooter revealed \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 the Tower of London location as well as\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 the Survival Mode in which the player only has one life to survive. \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The new video also showed the Weapon Crafting feature that allows players \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 to customise their equipment directly on the GamePad, the use of a spraycan \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 to leave messages made up from symbols for other players, plus new online \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 features in which online friends who are turned into zombies will then \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 turn up in the player\u2019s game.<\/li>\n<li><strong>RAYMAN\u00ae LEGENDS <\/strong>: A \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 video featuring series creator Michel Ancel highlighted how this new 2D \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 platform game creates a unique\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 gameplay dynamic due to the different roles enjoyed by players \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 depending on which controller they are using. The capabilities of the \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 GamePad allow for a very tactile interaction with the game world \u2013 pulling \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 objects, turning parts of the level around, protecting the other players \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 and many other unique examples that require ongoing communication between \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 all players too succeed.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Call of Duty\u00ae: Black Ops II<\/strong>: The \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 most groundbreaking and viscerally immersive Call of Duty<strong><em>\u00ae<\/em><\/strong> \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 experience yet. Rooted in near-future fiction, the title features an epic \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 single-player campaign highlighted by branching storylines and non-linear \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 missions, plus a re-imagined multiplayer that introduces players to some \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 of the most cutting-edge weaponry and equipment that 2025 will have to \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 offer.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Mass Effect 3\u2122 &#8211; Special \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Edition<\/strong>: In a fight to save the galaxy in this \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 third-person action game with RPG elements and an immersive storyline, \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 players can use the GamePad for a new level of tactical control over the \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 battlefield. An interactive back-story comic gets beginners up to speed on \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 this epic saga while the inclusion of the \u201cExtended Cut\u201d endgame content \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 completes the package.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Nintendo also lifted the lid on two games being created by Platinum Games. The previously unannounced title,\u00a0 <strong><em>BAYONETTA 2 <\/em><\/strong>and <strong><em>The Wonderful 101<\/em><\/strong> are both exclusive to Wii U and will be produced by Atsushi Inaba. Known as Project P-100 at E3 and directed by Hideki Kamiya, <em>The Wonderful 101<\/em> sees players combine the might of various heroes to fight off an alien invasion, while <em>BAYONETTA 2 <\/em>\u00a0is the sequel to the critically acclaimed <em>BAYONETTA<\/em><strong>\u2122<\/strong>and will be directed by Yusuke Hashimoto.<\/p>\n<p>Capcom\u2019s Ryozo Tsujimoto revealed that <strong><em>Monster Hunter<\/em><\/strong><strong>\u2122<\/strong><strong><em> 3 Ultimate<\/em><\/strong> will be released for Wii U as well as Nintendo 3DS by March 2013. Fans can play the Wii U game with other players online, or connect to players of the Nintendo 3DS version of the game via a local wireless connection. It\u2019s even possible to play at home on Wii U and continue the save file on the go with the Nintendo 3DS version of the game.<\/p>\n<p>Among the wealth of new game footage on display, a humorous new video of the upcoming <strong><em>LEGO<\/em><\/strong><em>\u00ae<\/em><strong><em>\u00a0 City: Undercover<\/em><\/strong><em> <\/em>from TT Games was shown, another exclusive Wii U title that lets players assume the role of undercover cop Chase McCain in an open world packed with missions to complete. Players can don a wide variety of disguises to infiltrate different parts of the sprawling cityscape or hop on one of over 100 vehicles to take in its many sights. The GamePad acts as a multi-purpose gadget that can be used to scan the environment for hidden items, receive video messages from HQ and much more.<\/p>\n<p>On Wii U, the Nintendo eShop will see titles which highlight the unique possibilities of the Wii U GamePad, as shown in videos for <strong><em>Trine 2: Director\u2019s Cut<\/em><\/strong>, <strong><em>Toki Tori 2<\/em><\/strong>, and the stylish <strong><em>Nano Assault Neo<\/em><\/strong>, which can be played on the GamePad alone.<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.vgleaks.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/wiiu21.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Existing Wii owners will be pleased to hear that nearly all Wii peripherals will be compatible with the Wii U console &#8211; with neither hardware pack including a Wii Remote Plus controller, Wii owners won\u2019t need to repurchase peripherals they already own. For players who don\u2019t already own a Wii console, Nintendo has created a <em>Wii Remote Plus Additional Set<\/em> containing a Wii Remote Plus controller, Nunchuk and sensor bar.
