\u2018Muirhouse\u2019<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0signs with Monster Pictures<\/strong><\/p>\n

SYDNEY:<\/strong>\u00a0The Australian made award winning supernatural horror film \u2018Muirhouse\u2019 has this week confirmed to have signed with horror distributors Monster Pictures (distributors of \u2018The Notorious\u2019 and \u2018The Human Centipede\u2019 films). \u2018Muirhouse\u2019 is set to hit Australian cinemas over the coming months.\u00a0\u00a0This follows the announcement that the film is heading to LA at the invitation of the iconic SHRIEKFEST Film Festival.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is one hell of a ride\u201d comments Writer and Director Tanzeal Rahim \u201cWhen I started this journey almost 2 years ago I never imagined the film would get this sort of attention! Signing onto a distributor and being an \u2018Official Selection\u2019 for the 2012 SHRIEKFEST Horror Festival is crazy!\u201d<\/p>\n

The Australian made film has found its success through reprising classic horror styles [such as Alfred Hitchcock]; where the thrills and excitement is left up to what you don\u2019t see.\u00a0\u00a0In the tradition of \u2018Paranormal Activity\u2019 or \u2018The Blair Witch Project\u2019 \u2018Muirhouse\u2019 is a documentary style film set in Australia\u2019s most haunted house; The Monte Cristo Homestead in Junee, NSW.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur interest was peaked when we kept hearing amazing things about this film\u2019 comments Neil Foley from Monster Pictures \u2018We had the chance to attend a screening and found this film to be unique, fresh and appealing to a broader audience \u2013 we love it! The audience reaction to \u2018Muirhouse\u2019 is phenomenal it genuinely seems to freak people out!\u201d<\/p>\n

\u2018Muirhouse\u2019 is played out through the eyes of fictional ghost hunter Philip Muirhouse and follows his experience of a spending a night alone in the house.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat attracted me to accept the role of Philip Muirhouse was that this was a back to classic style film\u201d says films lead actor Iain PF McDonald \u201cit reminded me of the thrillers from other times where suspense and anticipation lead you on a journey you couldn\u2019t turn away from!\u201d<\/p>\n

This original Australian film has had many successes throughout 2012 beginning at this year Marche Du Film in Cannes where it got strong international interest from distributors.\u00a0\u00a0The film also was then invited to compete in the Fright Night Film Festival in Louisville USA where it won Best Foreign Feature Film.\u00a0\u00a0Following this it was privately screened to the township of Junee, NSW in June, and now the only foreign film invited to attend the iconic SHRIEKFEST in LA this October.<\/p>\n

Muirhouse will have its Australian Theatrical premier on Thursday 8th<\/sup>\u00a0November at the Nova Cinemas in Melbourne.<\/p>\n
