The EISA accolades follow a record six awards by the Technical Image Press Association* (TIPA) in April.<\/p>\n<p>The EISA-award-winning products are the Canon <a href=\"http:\/\/www.canon.com.au\/Professional\/EOS-Digital-SLR-Cameras\/EOS-5D-Mark-III\">EOS 5D Mark III<\/a> digital SLR camera, named European Advanced SLR Camera 2012-2013; the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.canon.com.au\/For-You\/Digital-Cameras\/G1X-Camera\">PowerShot G1 X<\/a> compact digital camera, honoured with the European Compact Camera 2012-2013 award; the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.canon.com.au\/For-You\/Digital-Video-Cameras\/HFM52\">LEGRIA HF M52<\/a> video camcorder, crowned European Camcorder 2012-2013; and the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.canon.com.au\/For-You\/Printers\/PIXMA-InkJet-Printers\/PIXMA-PRO-1\">PIXMA PRO-1<\/a> professional inkjet printer, recognised with the European Photo Printer 2012-2013 award.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c2012 continues to be a standout for us and our partners with our best-ever range of products and a record number of major awards across our imaging categories,\u201d said Jason McLean, Director \u2013 Canon Consumer Imaging, Canon Australia. \u201cWinning a TIPA or an EISA award is the ultimate recognition that a product is the best of the best, so we are thrilled to have won a total of 10 this year in all major categories from compact and SLR photography to photo printing and video capture. It is fitting that Canon\u2019s 75<sup>th<\/sup> anniversary year coincides with a record number of awards that recognise our unique position of leadership across digital image capture and output.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Canon EOS 5D Mark III: European Advanced SLR Camera 2012-2013<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Described as an \u201cextremely versatile still camera,\u201d the EOS 5D Mark III was lauded for being an \u201ceasy-to-use, professional quality, DSLR movie camera\u201d that boasts \u201csubstantial improvements in real-life photography as well as in performance\u201d compared with its predecessor, the 5D Mark II. In addition to a 22.0-million-pixel CMOS sensor that, according to EISA jury members, \u201cyields great results under normal and low-light conditions,\u201d the EOS 5D Mark III was noted for its six frames- per-second continuous shooting speed and body design featuring \u201csignificantly improved resistance.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Canon PowerShot G1 X: European Compact Camera 2012-2013<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>According to the EISA jury, the PowerShot G1 X\u2019s image quality is \u201cat a level that can compete with many DSLRs,\u201d a feat that is \u201cquite amazing for a camera with such a compact body.\u201d In addition to featuring a sensor size that helps \u201ckeep noise well under control\u201d even at high ISO settings, the G1 X\u2019s powerful DIGIC 5 image processor \u201cplays a major role in reducing image noise\u201d and processing the camera\u2019s 14.3-million-pixel, 14-bit images \u201cat top speed.\u201d Based on tests by EISA, the camera\u2019s 4x zoom \u201coffers good image quality for such a compact design\u201d while its built-in image stabilizer, which uses the same hybrid IS technology as some professional Canon lenses, is \u201cvery efficient.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Canon LEGRIA HF M52: European Camcorder 2012-2013<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The compact HF M52 camcorder, according to EISA, gives users the opportunity to shoot \u201chigh- quality video with ultra-fast focusing and effective picture stabilisation.\u201d The 32GB built-in memory provides up to three hours of shooting \u201cat the highest picture quality,\u201d while external SD flash memory, including SDXC, means users should \u201cnever run out of space.\u201d In addition to its built-in Wi-Fi connectivity, which \u201cmakes it easy to share footage,\u201d the jury noted that, what stood out most for the HF M52 was its \u201csuperb picture quality, courtesy of Canon\u2019s HD CMOS Pro sensor.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Canon PIXMA PRO-1: European Photo Printer 2012-2013<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Featuring 12 high-capacity pigment ink cartridges, the PIXMA PRO-1 is, according to the EISA jury panel, \u201cthe perfect choice for making long-lasting prints of outstanding quality.\u201d The printer, aimed at serious amateurs and professional photographers, realizes not only \u201cexcellent and consistent\u201d colour rendering, but also, thanks to five dedicated monochrome inks, \u201cblack-and-white prints [that] are highly detailed and really stand out.\u201d The EISA jury described the PRO-1 as \u201cfull of modern technology,\u201d delivering \u201cexcellent quality with relatively low running costs.\u201d<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>About EISA<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Comprising 50 special interest magazines from across Europe focusing on such categories as photography, video and audio, EISA presents awards to those products that were released in Europe within the past 12 months and deemed representative of their product category. Launched in 1982, this year marks the EISA award\u2019s 31st year. In total, Canon has been honoured with 56 EISA awards over a 27-year period, including 24 consecutive years in which the company received accolades.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Other Awards in 2012<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In addition to the EISA awards, the EOS 5D Mark III and PowerShot G1 X were named \u201cBest Video DSLR in 2012\u201d and \u201cBest Expert Compact Camera in 2012,\u201d respectively, by the Technical Image Press Association* (TIPA) in April of this year.
