SYDNEY, Australia, July 19, 2012 \u2013<\/strong> Intel today announced the appointment of Stephanie Ryan to the position of Public Relations Manager, Australia and New Zealand. In her new role, Stephanie will be responsible for communications across ANZ and will focus on driving awareness of Ultrabook\u2122 devices and the 3rd generation Intel\u00ae\u00a0Core\u2122 processor family.<\/p>\n

Stephanie replaces Anna Torres who has recently been promoted to ANZ Marketing Manager. \u201cStephanie brings to the role solid PR and communications experience, and a strong understanding of the technology industry,\u201d said Torres.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe is already familiar with Intel\u2019s brand and communications strategy, having previously worked on the Intel PR team at Spectrum Communications. Stephanie\u2019s existing understanding of\u00a0Intel\u00a0combined with her knowledge of the\u00a0IT industry make her well suited to this role,\u201d said Torres.<\/p>\n

Stephanie is excited to take on the role during a time when innovation is paramount in the technology industry. \u201cI\u2019m thrilled to be moving into this role at a time when personal computing is undergoing such a significant transformation. This year has seen a number of advancements from Intel including the launch of 3rd Generation Intel Core processors and the continued evolution of the Ultrabook. I\u2019m looking forward to sharing the company\u2019s future direction,\u201d said Stephanie.<\/p>\n

Stephanie joins Intel from Medtronic, a medical technology company that specialises in therapies for people with chronic disease. At Medtronic Stephanie was responsible for media relations and internal communications.<\/p>\n

Prior to her position at Medtronic, Stephanie spent a year in Bangladesh working for the Centre of Injury Prevention and Research (CIPRB), a UNICEF-funded NGO, as Media and Communications Officer. CIPRB is focused on preventing childhood injury, including drowning which claims the lives of 18,000 children in Bangladesh every year.<\/p>\n

Stephanie\u2019s appointment is effective immediately.<\/p>\n
