Thousands of Australians harbour a dream to make it in the biggest movie\u00a0\u00a0 industry in the world \u2013 Bollywood. Now, in this exciting twist on the\u00a0\u00a0 talent search format, one Australian will be given the chance to realise\u00a0\u00a0 that dream.<\/p>\n

The hunt is on to find an Australian \u2018Bollywood Star\u2019. To get there,\u00a0\u00a0 they’ll have to make it through the grueling audition process and pit\u00a0\u00a0 their talents against hundreds of other hopefuls. Six finalists will\u00a0\u00a0 then be selected to travel to Mumbai where they’ll be trained by the\u00a0\u00a0 best coaches Bollywood has to offer. They’ll be immersed into Indian\u00a0\u00a0 life and pushed emotionally like never before. And ultimately only one\u00a0\u00a0 Australian will walk away with the life changing prize – a role in\u00a0\u00a0 legendary Bollywood director Mahesh Bhatt’s next film.<\/p>\n

MISSION EVEREST WITH BEAR GRYLLS<\/a><\/h3>\n

Follow explorer Bear Grylls and his friend Gilo Cardozo as they prepare\u00a0\u00a0 to fly over the summit of Mount Everest. They will be strapped onto\u00a0\u00a0 flimsy paraglide chutes powered by backpack motors, or paramotors as\u00a0\u00a0 they are known to aficionados.<\/p>\n

First, Gilo must single-handedly design and build a paramotor that\u00a0\u00a0 can go a full 3000 metres higher than any other engine, or indeed\u00a0\u00a0 paramotor, has gone before. Bear takes charge of their survival\u00a0\u00a0 strategy. The pair face temperatures of -40\u00b0C that will instantly freeze\u00a0\u00a0 exposed flesh, hurricane-force winds that threaten to dash them against\u00a0\u00a0 the mountain peaks, and very low levels of oxygen.<\/p>\n

As the day of the flight approaches, they face the reality of the\u00a0\u00a0 challenge ahead and are beset with machine troubles, failed test flights\u00a0\u00a0 and a damaged engine. At his lowest ebb, Bear has some uncharacteristic\u00a0\u00a0 doubts: ‘I’d always planned this project to be ambitious but safe; the\u00a0\u00a0 bottom line is it’s ambitious but it’s not safe.’ Have the pair aimed\u00a0\u00a0 too high?<\/p>\n

LETTERS AND NUMBERS \u2013 THE MASTERS <\/a><\/h3>\n

Embracing individuals who have a passion for puzzles, Letters and\u00a0\u00a0 Numbers aims to educate, inform and entertain. Hosted by Richard\u00a0\u00a0 Morecroft and assisted by Lily Serna and David Astle – each episode of\u00a0\u00a0 Letters and Numbers pits the lexical dexterity and mathematical agility\u00a0\u00a0 of contestants against each other, and the clock.<\/p>\n

The point scoring begins with a letter round. Contestants take turns\u00a0\u00a0 to select a combination of nine random consonants and vowels. They must\u00a0\u00a0 then attempt to make the longest word possible using the nine letters.\u00a0\u00a0 Offered words will attract the attention of David Astle who will verify\u00a0\u00a0 the words and also point out any longer or interesting words hiding in\u00a0\u00a0 the selection. Points are awarded to the contestant with the longest\u00a0\u00a0 acceptable word.<\/p>\n

Mental arithmetic then comes into play for the number rounds.\u00a0\u00a0 Contestants aim to meet a randomly selected target number with six\u00a0\u00a0 chosen numbers using a combination of addition, subtraction,\u00a0\u00a0 multiplication and division. Lily Serna will write up and verify the\u00a0\u00a0 offered solutions and also provide her own expert calculations. Points\u00a0\u00a0 are awarded to the contestant closest to the target number.<\/p>\n

Finally the conundrum, a buzzer round where contestants vie to be\u00a0\u00a0 the first to solve a nine letter anagram. A winner is then declared who\u00a0\u00a0 will return the following day as the carry-over champion. No million\u00a0\u00a0 dollar prize is at stake, contestants play for glory and for the\u00a0\u00a0 prestigious title of grand champion at the end of the series.<\/p>\n
