The new OS update incorporates a number of enhancements including a feature called BlackBerry\u00ae Tag for NFC-enabled BlackBerry smartphones.<\/p>\n<p>BlackBerry 7.1 is now available from Vodafone and Optus. Devices powered by BlackBerry 7 OS &#8211; the BlackBerry\u00ae Bold\u2122 9900, Torch\u2122 9860 &amp; 9810 and Curve\u2122 9360 \u2013 are compatible for the upgrade.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How to download the operating system update <\/strong><br \/>\nConnect your BlackBerry 7 smartphone to your computer through a USB connection, visit <a href=\"http:\/\/www.blackberry.com\/update\">www.blackberry.com\/update<\/a> from your computer, click \u201ccheck for updates\u201d and simply follow the on-screen instructions.<\/p>\n<p><strong>New BlackBerry 7.1 OS features include:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>BlackBerry \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Tag<\/strong>: The BlackBerry 7.1 OS \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 incorporates a new feature called BlackBerry Tag which changes the way \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 BlackBerry users can share information and content. By simply tapping their \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Near Field Communication (NFC)-enabled BlackBerry smartphone against \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 another NFC enabled BlackBerry smartphone, users can invite a friend to \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 BBM or exchange contact information, documents, URLs, photos and other \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 multimedia content. They can also pair their BlackBerry smartphone with a \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 NFC-enabled Bluetooth\u00ae device.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Mobile \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Hotspot<\/strong>: With BlackBerry 7.1, users \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 can be even more productive on the go by turning their BlackBerry \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 smartphone into a mobile hotspot that can be shared by up to 5 Wi-Fi\u00ae \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 -enabled devices, including laptops and tablets<sup>1<\/sup>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Universal \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Search<\/strong>: The Universal Search \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 capability has further been enhanced to help users find what they are \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 looking for. It now includes an auto-suggest feature that intelligently \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 filters Bing\u00ae search results to offer users a variety of relevant Web \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 sites based on their search terms.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>FM \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Radio<\/strong>: The BlackBerry 7.1 OS will \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 also let BlackBerry Curve 9360 smartphone customers enjoy FM radio. The FM \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 radio circuitry is already built in to the Curve 9360 model and BlackBerry \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 7.1 provides users with a new app that allows them to tune in and enjoy \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 local FM radio stations.
