FANTASTIC PLANET FILM FESTIVAL ANNOUNCES ITS 2012 PROGRAM<\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Australia\u2019s favourite genre film festival, Fantastic Planet Film Festival<\/strong> is set to unleash 11 days of the very best horror, fantasy and science fiction films when it kicks of at Dendy Cinema Newtown on 22nd<\/sup> March 2012.\u00a0<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Narrowing down over 600 submissions from across the globe, the Fantastic Planet Film Festival will showcase a stellar line-up of films, many being Australian premieres and recipients of international awards and recognition.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Opening night of the Festival will see the Australian premiere of the post-apocalyptic science fiction thriller and nominee for \u2018Best New International Feature\u2019 at the 2011 Edinburgh International Film Festival, THE DIVIDE; followed by the science fiction drama ANOTHER EARTH, winner of the prestigious Sloan Award at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Festival\u2019s program also includes numerous award-winning films including \u2018Best Horror Movie\u2019 at the 2011 American International Film Festival BELOW ZERO; \u2018Best Film\u2019 at the 2011 Toronto After Dark Film Festival FATHER\u2019S DAY; \u2018Best Feature Film\u2019 at the 2011 Sci-Fi London Film Festival PIG; and UNICORN CITY which received official selection at the 2011 San Diego Film Festival.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Four Q&A sessions will also be held throughout the Festival including BELOW ZERO\u2019s writer\/producer Signe Olynk and producer Bob Schultz, director of THE DEVIL\u2019S ROCK Paul Campion, writer\/director of SKEW Seve Schelenz, and CRAWL\u2019s writer\/director Paul China and producer Benjamin China.\u00a0<\/p>\n
