Interactive Entertainment and DC Entertainment today announced the launch of Gotham City Impostors, <\/em><\/strong>an original, download only, multiplayer first-person shooter from Monolith Productions for the Xbox 360\u00ae <\/sup>video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PlayStation\u00ae3 computer entertainment system and Windows PC.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Gotham City Impostors<\/em><\/strong> allows up to 12 players to battle for control of an unhinged Gotham City overrun by Impostors inspired by the DC Comics characters Batman and The Joker. The game can be purchased for 1200 Microsoft Points in the Xbox LIVE\u00ae<\/sup> Marketplace for Xbox 360, now available on PC via the Games for Windows LIVE Marketplace and Steam\u00ae and coming soon on the PlayStation\u00aeNetwork.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cGotham City Impostors<\/em><\/strong> is a unique first-person multiplayer shooter that delivers a completely different Batman experience that is irreverent, fun and humourous,\u201d said Samantha Ryan, Senior Vice President, Production and Development, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment.\u00a0 \u201cThe game is unlike any other on the market today and gives fans the opportunity to play the game in which they want to play.\u00a0 We can\u2019t wait to see reactions from players wreaking havoc in Gotham City.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

Players can engage in deliriously fast paced, uniquely vertical, and completely unconventional urban warfare where progress supports levelling up and access to a mind-boggling array of customisation options. Unlock new Bats or Jokerz costumes and build your own specific loadout from a huge asortment of traditional and homebrew weaponry, equipment, and perks.\u00a0Gadgets such as the Glider Rig, Grappling Hook, and Spring Boots give gamers unprecedented mobility options, while support items like the Bear Traps, Boomerang, and Body Armour open up new tactical options.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The game features five maps and four modes inspired by DC Comics\u2019 Batman license.\u00a0 The maps include Crime Alley, Amusement Mile, Ace Chemical, The Docks and Gotham Power.\u00a0 Gamers can choose from several gameplay modes \u2013 Team Deathmatch, Fumigation or Psych Warfare modes \u2013 and engage in all-out combat, or they can choose the Challenges mode, a single-player mode that allows players to safely explore the different maps and practice using different weapons, support items and gadgets.\u00a0<\/p>\n

A free downloadable content pack will be available in March.\u00a0 It will include a new \u201c25th<\/sup> Floor\u201d map, as well as over 100 new customisation options including weapons, support items, costumes and calling card elements.\u00a0<\/p>\n
