Today, Microsoft and Epic Games announced \u201cRAAM\u2019s Shadow,\u201d the new campaign experience for the award-winning blockbuster, \u201cGears of War 31<\/sup><\/em>.\u201d Starring a cast of characters both new and eerily familiar to the series, \u201cRAAM\u2019s Shadow\u201d will deliver more than three hours of gameplay set in a storyline that precedes the events of the first \u201cGears of War,\u201d as well as six new multiplayer characters, the Chocolate Weapon Set and an additional 250 Gamerscore. \u201cRAAM\u2019s Shadow\u201d will launch Dec. 13 for 1,200 Microsoft Points on Xbox LIVE Marketplace2<\/em>, marking the second major game add-on for this year\u2019s critically-acclaimed blockbuster, \u201cGears of War 3.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen we announced the \u2018Gears 3\u2019 Season Pass, we immediately started getting hundreds of questions from fans about what the game add-ons would be,\u201d said Epic Games Design Director Cliff Bleszinski. \u201cWe\u2019re really excitedto be lifting the curtain on the first two releases, first with the \u2018Horde Command Pack\u2019 and now with \u2018RAAM\u2019s Shadow,\u2019 which gives fans a new perspective on the \u2018Gears\u2019 universe and is also the biggest DLC release we\u2019ve ever made.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cRAAM\u2019s Shadow\u201d drops players into the events of Sera post-Emergence Day, as Zeta Squad is enlisted to evacuate Ilima City and protect the citizens against a Locust Kryll storm. Taking on the infamous Locust leader from \u201cGears 1,\u201d General RAAM, Zeta is led by Michael Barrick (from \u201cGears of War\u201d comics fame) and comprised of familiar faces such as Lt. Minh Young Kim (\u201cGears 1\u201d) and Tai Kaliso (\u201cGears 2\u201d), and also includes a new female comrade, Alicia Valera.<\/p>\n

In addition to fighting as a new squad of Gears, players will step into the boots of RAAM himself, and for the first time storm the human stronghold from the perspective of one of the series\u2019 most legendary bosses.<\/p>\n
