Friday 12th<\/sup> August 2011<\/strong> \u2013 SEGA\u00ae Europe Ltd. and SEGA\u00ae of America, Inc. today announced \u2018Rise of the Samurai\u2019 the first Downloadable campaign for the critically acclaimed, Total War: SHOGUN 2<\/em><\/strong>\u2122 will be available on digital platforms from September.<\/p>\n

The Total War: SHOGUN 2 – Rise of the Samurai campaign is set 400 years before the dramatic civil war depicted in SHOGUN 2, The \u201cRise of The Samurai\u201d campaign is based on the Gempei War, a conflict between six legendary clans of the Taira, Minamoto and Fujiwara families: A war which culminated in the first Shogun, and the rise of the Samurai as the ruling class.<\/p>\n

The Rise of the Samurai adds a brand new playable campaign to Total War: Shogun 2. The campaign can be played in both single and multiplayer modes. Six new playable clans, each with unique traits are also added for a brand new campaign experience. These clans come with sixteen new land units and ten new naval units between them offering a very different set of strategies to the would-be general. There are also four new hero units including the Tetsubo Warrior Monk Hero and the deadly female Onna Bushi Heroine<\/em>. As well as all these additions the Rise of the Samurai expansion adds four new agent types, each with their own skill trees. From the seductress Shirabyoshi<\/em> to the shrewd and zealous Junsatsushi Inspectors, each of these offers a brand new campaign experience. With all these clans, heroes, agents and units at your command you must ride with the first of the Samurai and decide the fate of the first ever Shogun of Japan.<\/p>\n

In addition to all this all of the new land and naval units are available to deploy online, along with ten new mons and retainers to further customise your Avatar!<\/p>\n

Total War: SHOGUN 2<\/em><\/strong> pushes forward the hugely successful Total War series by perfecting the features from previous games such as full 3D land and naval battles and a detailed campaign map, whilst adding an exciting new multiplayer experience. Total War: SHOGUN 2 <\/em><\/strong>released in March 2011.<\/p>\n
