Launching Sept. 20, 2011, \u201cGears of War 3\u201d marks the conclusion of one of the most renowned sagas in video game history, and fans are already lining up to join Marcus Fenix and his fellow COG soldiers in humanity\u2019s final stand against the parasitic Lambent and savage Locust threats.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cConsumer demand for \u2018Gears of War 3\u2019 has been incredible,\u201d said Bob McKenzie, Senior VP of Merchandising at GameStop. \u201cIt is one of the few times in our history that we\u2019ve seen a title hit this level of pre-order numbers four months out from launch, putting \u2018Gears of War 3\u2019 on track to be one of the year\u2019s biggest blockbuster gaming hits.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Helping propel \u201cGears of War 3\u201d pre-orders worldwide, 1.29 million fans from more than 143 countries answered the call to join the \u201cGears of War 3\u201d public multiplayer beta.
