My People, Culture and Country<\/strong><\/p>\n

My People, Culture and Country<\/em> <\/strong>is an exhibition showcasing the work of Koorie youth from the Hume region of Victoria. The exhibition explores the ways in which Koorie youth have connected with their culture, land and community through photographs, personal objects and stories.<\/p>\n

Top Designs 2011<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Creepy Spooksville pinball machine, a conversation seat, a coat inspired by a babushka doll, and the graphic design for the flagship vehicle of Oatomobile porridge are just some of the outstanding works featured in Top Designs 2011<\/em>. In its 11th<\/sup> year at Melbourne Museum, Top Designs<\/em> showcases the works of some of Victoria\u2019s most exceptional emerging designers. Featuring 122 works by 108 students from government, Catholic and independent schools across Victoria, the exhibition includes everything from furniture and fashion to graphic design and photography.<\/p>\n

Women with Clever Hands<\/strong><\/p>\n

Women with Clever Hands<\/em> showcases Aboriginal fibre work by women artists from Gapuwiyak in northeast Arnhem Land. Featuring baskets, bags, mats, sculptural figures and jewellery, these beautiful works combine simple, functional shapes with intricate design, fine detail and subtle colour, all of which reflect the complexities of their land and their culture.<\/p>\n

Tutankhamun and the Golden Age of the Pharaohs<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Tutankhamun <\/em>exhibition comes to Australia for the first time. Revel in the splendour of Ancient Egypt as you view a dazzling array of possessions unearthed from the boy king\u2019s tomb. See Tutankhamun\u2019s golden canopic coffinette and the crown found on his head when the tomb was discovered. Learn about the extraordinary discovery of the tomb and the belief and burial processes of ancient Egypt.
