Feel the force of a 500cc grand prix race bike… experience the exhilaration of Moto GP2. Namco has released a worthy sequel to MotoGP that is twice as big and more fun than the original. The game has once again gained the license from Dorna's 2001 500cc Grand Prix league. www.dorna.com Everything from bikes, race tracks and real factory teams can be found in this game. Fans of the racing genre will be delighted by the realism of this game. Race alongside with 20 different riders on 10 very graphically different tracks.

The game has a choice of three different gameplay modes from arcade, championship and time trials. For straight fast no fuss racing, you can select the arcade mode that throws you straight into a race. The time trial mode lets you choose different pre-race options but instead of racing against other riders, you are now racing against the clock. Championship mode lets you race for one of beginner teams for a whole season. By winning a race, you are given points that let you change to other teams. This than lets you race for one of the more professional teams such as Repsol's YPF Honda Team with more powerful bikes. As with all good racing simulations, you are given the choice of modifying your bike such as transmission and brakes. Other advance options include, an ability to select wet weather, which is probably one of nicest effects since Grand Turismo 3. Another option is the ability to turn simulation mode on or off, depending on how realistic you want the game to become.

The game controls are very easy to pick up and you'll be racing in no time. The game makes use of the PS2's dual shock capabilities and you really get a feeling of driving a fast bike on a Moto GP circuit. The graphics rarely fall below 60 frames per second and everything from backgrounds to other riders have been done extremely well. The sound effects of the game are as expected, top class of any Moto GP event. All in all, a very professionally produced game that will appeal to beginners and experts alike. Highly Recommended!
