This charmingly funny movie had me locked to my seat as Jimi Mistry played the lead role in The Guru. Ramu Gupta (Mistry) leaves his job as a dance instructor in India to go to the USA to seek his fame and fortune as an actor in New York. Things don't go exactly as planned and Ramu finds himself in the lead role in a porn movie! Unable to perform, Ramu finds assistance from his female lead (Heather Graham) in ways to not think about the task at hand so he can relax. Unable to cope however, Ramu assists his friends doing cooking at functions for wealthy socialites.

At one such function a Guru has been hired to instruct the attendees and due to the fact that he's had too much to drink, the friends hurriedly dress Ramu up and in a panic he tells the socialites about the importance of sex in their lives! And that my friends is how the Sex Guru came to be.

The last two paragraphs do this great movie no justice at all, merely serving as a poor introduction to a brilliant film. A lot of the movie's humour is also a visual affair and the mix of colours and camera work really serve to make this work all the way through the film.

The stars of this film, Jimi Mistry, Heather Graham and Marisa Tomei work very well together to produce a film that essentially is a feel good romantic comedy. There seems to be a chemistry between the three that works very well and I'd certainly like to see them together again in the future.

The disc is in widescreen format and supports a number of audio options including DTS and Dolby Digital. I especially loved the music and dancing that was on the movie. It was all a flurry of sight and sound and was wonderful!

The disc has an abundance of features on it that will provide hours of additional entertainment. I really enjoyed the Jimi Mistry commentary track and also the swag of trailers that are on the DVD. I highly recommend this film as a movie that both the guys and girls will enjoy and even better, watch more than once, making it a good item to add to your movie collection.
