Nigella Lawson presents this wonderful DVD demonstrating how easy and effective cooking can be, as well as a lot of fun. Now you need to understand that over the years I have been a jack of many trades and during a seven year stint in the Navy I was involved in hospitality as both cook and steward, so I am coming to this review from an informed perspective of all things kitchen.

Something that needs to be understood about this disc is that to get the most out of it, you must be conversant with your DVD remote control. Nigella's dishes are mouth watering, however she does cover them with such a speed that possibly some dishes will overwhelm people into believing that they cannot cook them. This is untrue. The dishes featured on this brilliant DVD are simplicity themselves to cook and you can do it at home. Nigella is not using any ingredients that are not readily purchased from a  local supermarket.

When you see a dish that you like the look of, the recipe is available by pressing the Menu button on your DVD. The entire list of ingredients show up on an attractive screen that is easy to read and copy from. Then just watch the rest of the segment to get preparation ideas from Nigella.

I really liked the camera work on this DVD with the Nigella Bites team choosing to use some angles that you would not normally see on a lifestyle/cooking program and I believe that these angles in some circumstances will actually make it easier for you to see how the food is prepared. Whilst not an important part of the show, it helps add to the overall experience of the DVD and this was demonstrated when the over the shoulder view of Nigella separating egg whites from the yolk was used.

The disc in it's entirety is excellently presented and Nigella is easy to understand and the general style of the program is enchanting to watch. The layout of the menu is nice as are the brief introductions to each segment. All up, a nice attractive DVD and highly recommended.
